DESCRIPTION

Amazon is seeking a candidate who is passionate about leveraging data to deliver actionable insight that impacts business decisions to improve customer experience in North American transportation network. Amazon transportation encompasses all of the operations that deliver shipments from our fulfillment centers and third party locations to customers worldwide. Because we strive for faster delivery to customers a successful candidate must be passionate about identifying and building solutions that will help drive a more efficient network and better customer experience. This role offers the opportunity to influence and drive a growing business area. BIE will collaborate with diverse set of stakeholder including product managers, program managers, data scientists, software development engineers and other partner teams and analyze large data sets, prove and disprove hypothesis, automate existing solutions and build self-service dashboards and reports.

Key job responsibilities
- Develop and lead design and execution of reporting solutions for Speed metrics
- Work with product managers, data engineers, software engineers and product managers to define reporting needs
- Build self-service tools and dashboards that not only give aggregated metrics but also provide ways to pull most granular data for defect verification, customer communication, deep-dive etc.
- Perform deep-dives and data analysis. Provide recommendation on new metrics or business decision
- Mentor team mates, provide inputs in team and org level strategic planning, lead cross org discussions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 10+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
