DESCRIPTION

AWS Sales Marketing and Global Services Operations (SMGS) is seeking a Strategy & Operations lead to work with the Specialist GTM teams aligned to AWS Industries. This role will be a member of the GTM Ops team supporting AWSI GTM Specialists, partnering to help grow adoption for strategic AWS domains and services. This role will work with the worldwide Pillar-aligned Operations teams to continuously analyze historic results, and make business recommendations to senior management based on those analyses – all in an environment of rapid growth and increasing complexity. This role will work with the GTM Specialists to develop, implement and manage the annual GTM plan, business processes, systems, reports and strategies that optimize business functions to meet organizational goals and initiatives.

The Specialized Sales Operations lead will act as a trusted business advisor to GTM Specialists for the various IBU-aligned teams, leveraging data and analysis to land business insights, develop GTM strategies, and scale the business. Your insights will drive incubation and growth for some of the most complex, innovative and revenue driven offerings in the AWS portfolio. This position will support the administration and execution of the team’s goals and targets, including segmentation of business goals to the domain level, measurement of goal attainment, evolving and driving various demand generation campaigns and proposing improvements to the business to increase its effectiveness in driving desired results. This position will support various parts of the rhythm of the business activities such as Weekly Business Reviews, Monthly Business Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews, and other cadenced reporting and metrics. As such, this position will require a technical depth of understanding of the Service offerings, and understanding of the industries covered by AWS Industries team and solutions to meet end-customer needs and business requirements.

The successful candidate must be able to roll-up their sleeves, learn the technical solutions and understand the addressable opportunity by Industry and segment, and work directly with the data models to discern strategic insights. They will be passionate about their work, detail-oriented, analytical, and have excellent problem-solving abilities. They will be experienced at working with data sets and the technical tools needed to work with them. They will have superb communication and customer-relationship skills, outstanding analytic insight, and be a passionate advocate for their customers to other internal stakeholders. Active collaboration with members of AWS Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence, Business Development, Finance, AWS Industries Sales Operations, Marketing, and Recruiting will be crucial to the effective execution of the responsibilities. They will drive towards simple, scalable solutions to difficult problems, have excellent project-management skills, and be able to communicate complex analytical results, both written and verbally, in a clear and easy-to-understand way.


Key job responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to GTM Specialist leaders and team members, leveraging data and analyses to land business insights, develop GTM strategies, and scale the business.
- Drive incubation and growth for some of the newest and most innovate offerings in the AWS portfolio. Including driving improvements to the reporting tools, methods, and processes utilized by the team to increase the availability and granularity of actionable data to their customers.
- Support the administration and execution of the team’s targets, including segmentation of business goals, measurement of goal attainment, evolving and driving various demand generation campaigns and proposing improvements to the business to increase its effectiveness in driving desired results.
- Support the rhythm of the business activities such as Monthly Business Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews, and other cadenced reporting and metrics.
- Work directly with the models/data. Work with data sets and the technical tools needed to work with them.
- Advocate for their customers to other internal stakeholders. Active collaboration with teams in AWS Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence, Business Development, Finance, Marketing, Recruiting, and AWSI Sales Operations will be crucial to the effective execution of the responsibilities
- Drive towards simple, scalable solutions to difficult problems.

About Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years experience in Sales Operations
- 5+ years progressive work experience
- Experience with Excel
- Experience with SQL

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- MBA or other relevant advanced degree
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in Sales Operations, Sales Strategy, Finance, or other related fields
- Exhibits sound business judgment, a proven ability to influence others, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of taking ownership, leading data-driven analyses, and influencing results
- Able to operate successfully in a lean, fast-paced organization, and to create a vision and organization that can scale quickly
- Deep experience in prioritization of deliverables and tasks
- Strong business-process design experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $169,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
