We are looking for a talented Design Director who wants to be a key contributor to the launch of an exciting new shopping experience. In this role, you will generate industry leading brand and design experiences to drive traffic, awareness, and engagement.
The ideal candidate has a strong visual design background with a passion for and knowledge of contemporary fashion retail. With the proven ability to motivate through vision and a desire to inspire and collaborate with a passionate team. As a Design Director, you have strong organizational skills, web expertise, intrinsic design ability, typographic skills, and acute attention to detail. You will play a significant role in engaging customers and creating a best-in-class customer experience via digital store design and digital marketing initiatives.
Basic qualifications:
- An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating strong visual communication, deep understanding of typography, color, print and digital executions, and great user-centered design solutions
- 8+ years of relevant experience with visual design
- 4+ years of experience leading teams with strong execution focus
- Strong time management skills and ability to be self-directed as needed
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Highly proficient in Figma, Adobe Suite and related design and production software
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as visual communications or graphic design

- Experience mentoring Designers across many disciplines and taking the lead on projects
- Self-motivated team player, with refined and effective leadership skills
- Ability to influence others to set and achieve goals and deadlines
- Excellent concept and creative development skills
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Design experience for a contemporary fashion or brand-driven retail business
- Effective cross-team collaborator with the ability to work across multiple creative projects
- Expert understanding of the web production process; familiarity with post-production retouching and working knowledge of the printing process
Key job responsibilities
1. Manage and develop creative talent to ensure work achieves project goals, meets the highest quality standards, and is delivered on time
2. Establish mechanisms and audit work to maintain consistent brand standards across customer-facing marketing programs
3. Work closely with operations teams to scope projects and forecast resourcing needs to build production capacity, communicating needs and trade-offs when appropriate
4. Maintain the highest design standards and inform the work with data wherever possible.
5. Produce graphic standards, templates, layouts, guidelines and design graphics
6. Lead designers in the completion of projects as necessary, providing clear direction and constructive feedback
7. Be a mentor, motivate the team members and help them grow their careers
8. Exceptionally skilled at image curation, visual storytelling, typography, layout, form and color
9. Work from creative briefs alongside key stakeholders to develop executions for digital marketing activities.
10. Identify opportunities to incorporate emerging design trends and digital innovations into creative and marketing strategies.
11. Present concepts and produced work to stakeholders and internal customers, including senior management, in person and via video/phone.
12. Quickly turn around detailed comps/mockups in an iterative environment.
13. Work cross-team, lead the design process, and synthesize feedback and input from stakeholders.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $139,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $230,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
