In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities
As IBM Maximo Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the planning, implementation, and delivery of IBM Maximo Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) projects. This role focuses on overseeing the full project lifecycle, ensuring successful deployment, configuration, integration, and adoption of Maximo and its related applications or add‑ons. Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • IBM Maximo Project Management–oversees the planning, scheduling, execution, and completion of all project activities. Ensures the project stays on time, within budget, and aligned with the established scope. Provides direction to team members, monitors progress, and coordinates all tasks required for a successful Maximo implementation.
  • IBM Maximo technical expertise – uses in‑depth knowledge of IBM Maximo functionality, modules, workflows, and integration capabilities to guide solution design and decision‑making. Understands asset management best practices and applies them to configure Maximo in a way that meets the client’s operational and strategic needs.
  • Stakeholder Coordination – serves as the primary point of contact between business users, technical teams, vendors, and leadership. Ensures that requirements are clearly defined, expectations are managed, and communication flows smoothly across all project participants. Facilitates workshops, status meetings, and decision reviews.
  • Risk and Issue Management – identifies potential challenges that may impact the project’s timeline, budget, or quality. Tracks and evaluates risks, develops mitigation strategies, and resolves issues proactively. Ensures that problems are documented, communicated, and addressed before they escalate.
  • Business Alignment – ensures the Maximo solution is configured and implemented to support the client’s asset management processes, operational goals, and business strategies. Translates business needs into system requirements and validates that project outcomes deliver measurable value, such as improved efficiency, compliance, or asset performance.

Required technical and professional expertise
  • Maximo EAM Solution Knowledge – Demonstrates strong familiarity with Maximo Enterprise Asset Management solutions, including daily operations, core modules, support processes, and minor enhancement capabilities. Understands how Maximo functions within a broader asset management environment and can guide decisions based on system capabilities.
  • Functional Leadership for Maximo Solutions – Leads functional discussions with internal teams and clients by applying solid understanding of Maximo-based solution design. Translates business requirements into clear functional specifications and ensures alignment between user needs and system configuration.
  • Project Delivery Coordination – Works closely with design, build, and test teams to manage the successful delivery and implementation of Maximo solutions. Oversees project activities such as planning, scheduling, task coordination, and progress tracking to ensure timely and accurate execution.
  • Enhancement and Optimization Expertise – Identifies opportunities for improving existing Maximo environments by evaluating system performance, user feedback, and operational requirements. Manages the process of defining, prioritizing, and implementing minor enhancements to increase system efficiency and usability.
  • Client Operations Support – Collaborates with client stakeholders to ensure the smooth daily operation of Maximo solutions. Addresses system issues, tracks resolutions, and ensures that operational needs are met in accordance with project goals and service expectations.
Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Additional Maximo EAM Knowledge: Exposure to advanced features and functionalities of Maximo Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Solutions, including configuration and customization options.
  • Industry-specific EAM Solutions: Familiarity with EAM solutions in specific industries, such as manufacturing, oil and gas, or transportation, and understanding of industry-specific challenges and requirements.
  • IT Service Management: Experience with IT service management principles and practices, including incident, problem, and change management, and understanding of how they apply to EAM solution support.
