Your role and responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced SAP Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC) / Variant Configuration (VC) Lead to design, implement, and optimize configurable product solutions within SAP S/4HANA and ECC environments. This role will lead end-to-end configuration initiatives, work closely with business stakeholders, and drive scalable product modeling strategies for complex manufacturing scenarios.

Key Responsibilities
Solution Leadership
Lead the design and implementation of SAP VC (LO-VC) and/or Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC) in S/4HANA
Drive solution architecture for configurable products across Sales, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain functions
Provide expertise in transitioning from LO-VC to AVC where applicable.

Configuration & Modeling

Design and maintain:
Configurable materials (KMAT)
Classes, characteristics, and dependencies
Super BOMs and Super Routings

Develop and optimize:
Object dependencies (procedures, constraints, preconditions, selection conditions)
Variant tables and configuration profiles

Business Engagement
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into scalable VC/AVC solutions
Lead workshops and blueprinting sessions
Provide guidance on best practices for configurable product strategies

Integration & Process Design

Ensure seamless integration with:
SD (Sales & Distribution)
PP (Production Planning)
MM (Materials Management)

Support end-to-end processes like:
Configure-to-Order (CTO)
Engineer-to-Order (ETO)
Make-to-Order (MTO)

Leadership & Delivery
Lead and mentor a team of functional consultants and analysts
Manage project deliverables, timelines, and quality
Support testing cycles (SIT, UAT) and production deployments

Optimization & Support
Identify opportunities to enhance performance and reduce configuration complexity
Provide ongoing production support and troubleshooting
Drive continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
8+ years of SAP experience, with strong focus on VC/AVC
Hands-on experience implementing:

SAP LO-VC and/or SAP AVC in S/4HANA

Deep knowledge of:
Object dependencies
Variant configuration modeling techniques
Configurable BOMs and routings

Strong understanding of integration with SD, PP, and MM

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with S/4HANA transformation or migration to AVC
Knowledge of IPC / CPS / SSC (Variant Configuration & Pricing engines)
Exposure to Fiori apps for configuration
Experience in manufacturing industries such as:
Automotive
Industrial equipment
High-tech

For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
