Your role and responsibilities

About the Job:

Red Hat is looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join the Workforce Technology Solutions team. This role collaborates with stakeholders to design and implement solutions that support the organization's business objectives. The role also analyzes data trends and develops insights that inform business decisions, improving the efficiency and sustainability of systems.



What you will do:

  • Collect, document, and analyze complex data inputs from stakeholders to understand business system requirements and recommend improvements.
  • Lead competitive analysis to identify opportunities and document strengths and weaknesses of industry solutions.
  • Develop detailed requirements, user stories, and epics for system releases, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Present findings and recommendations through clear and engaging visualizations to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate cross-functional team activities to deliver on system enhancement projects.
  • Mentor junior analysts and team members, providing guidance and best practices.
  • Evaluate and implement strategies to enhance system health, focusing on data integrity and system sustainability.

  • Workday Core HCM & Foundation: Hands-on Workday HCM configuration experience, including Business Process (BP) architecture, Condition Rules, Notifications, Calculated Fields (logic-based), and Supervisory Organization (Sup Org) hierarchy maintenance.
  • Module-Specific Configuration: Ability to design, configure, and troubleshoot lifecycle BPs such as Hire/Onboarding, Termination, Move Workers, Compensation Changes, Request Compensation, Absence Management, and Talent/Performance modules.
  • Release Management: Experience conducting Workday Semi-Annual Release analysis, utilizing Workday Community for feature research, assessing impact on Preview vs. Production environments, and leading adoption planning.
  • Workflow Analysis: Strong ability to analyze HR operational workflows and translate them into Workday Functional Configuration (FDM) and logic-based system behaviors.
  • Advanced Reporting: Experience developing and maintaining Workday reports, including Advanced, Matrix, Composite, Search, and N-Box reports; proficient in Calculated Fields and defining Data Sources.
  • Security & Governance: Strong understanding of Workday Security frameworks, including Role-Based (RBST), User-Based, and Intersection Security Groups; experience with Domain Security Policies (DSP), Business Process Security Policies (BPSP), and Security Audits.
  • Feature Optimization: Ability to perform Fit-Gap Analysis for new Workday features, utilizing What’s New reports and Workday Roadmap updates to recommend system enhancements.
  • Requirements Documentation: Experience creating detailed User Stories with Acceptance Criteria (AC), Functional Design Documents (FDD), and Test Scripts.
  • Data Integrity & Loading: Expertise in diagnosing Workday data issues and performing Mass Data Loads/Updates using Enterprise Interface Builders (EIB), Web Services, and Workday Sheets for data validation.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Ability to collaborate with HRIS, Payroll, and Finance (FINS) teams to align Workday Business Objects with organizational needs.
  • System Testing Lifecycle: Strong experience leading testing cycles using tools like Kainos Smart, Excel-based trackers; expertise in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Regression Testing, and Defect Triage.
  • Documentation Standards: Ability to maintain system documentation such as Configuration Workbooks, SOPs, Process Flows, and Release Notes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in facilitating Discovery Workshops, User Demonstrations, and Train-the-Trainer sessions.
  • Agile Project Delivery: Hands-on experience using Agile tools such as Jira and ServiceNow (SNOW) to manage backlogs, sprints, and release tasks.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Strong problem-solving skills using Workday Auditor tools, View History, and Proxy functionality to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple enhancements simultaneously using Kanban or Scrum methodologies to ensure quality standards.
  • Leadership & Governance: Experience mentoring junior analysts or Workday Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on Best Practices, System Governance, and Tenant Management strategies.
