Description

Amazon's Last Mile delivery network is a critical driver of the customer experience — every capacity decision directly impacts how quickly and reliably millions of packages reach customers' doorsteps, fueling the flywheel of selection, convenience, and trust that defines Amazon. We are seeking a Senior Supply Chain Manager to own end-to-end capacity planning for our North America AMZL network. In this role, you will translate demand signals into optimized capacity strategies that balance cost, speed, and reliability across hundreds of delivery stations. You will operate at the intersection of data, operations, and strategy — architecting planning solutions that scale with one of the world's fastest-growing logistics networks.

[b]This role requires travel for 5% of each quarter.

Key job responsibilities
- Own North America capacity planning strategy by developing multi-quarter forecasts, translating demand signals from Fulfillment Centers, Retail, and Sort Centers into actionable station-level capacity plans, and driving system configurations that optimize our transportation network.

- Lead cross-functional alignment across Operations, Technology, Finance, and Retail stakeholders — resolving competing priorities, facilitating information flow, and ensuring organizational cohesion on network planning decisions that impact delivery speed and cost.

- Design and govern performance frameworks by establishing metrics that measure transportation network health, identifying root causes of variance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that reduce cost-per-package while maintaining delivery quality.

- Architect data-driven solutions for complex network challenges — leveraging SQL, simulation modeling, and advanced analytics to assess business impact, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

- Define business and technical requirements for planning tools and systems, partnering with Amazon's technology teams to enhance automation and scalability of capacity planning processes across the AMZL network.

A day in the life
You start your day reviewing network performance dashboards and capacity signals, then lead a cross-functional working session with Operations and Finance to align on next-quarter station plans. By midday, you're diving into simulation outputs to evaluate a network configuration change, building the business case for senior leadership review. Afternoons involve partnering with Technology on planning tool enhancements and collaborating with Delivery Station leaders to troubleshoot emerging capacity constraints — all to keep packages moving to customers on time.

About the team
AMZL Planning builds reliable and optimized capacity forecast plans for every station and DSP in Amazon's Last Mile network. We partner with upstream stakeholders including SCOT, NA Transportation, Process Engineering, Launch Operations, and Topology to collate network attributes, apply operational assumptions, and formulate forecasts that drive the metrics reviewed and approved by AMZL leadership. Our mission: ensure the right capacity is in the right place at the right time to delight customers.
